All postpartum packages include:

  • In-home visit: after completing the Client Consultation and signing your contract, your postpartum doula will schedule an in-home visit with you. There, she will discuss scheduling, preparations for mom and doula to have in place to bring baby home, and when you would like her care to begin. This will also be the time to discuss your postpartum care and goals, feeding goals, newborn/infant care goals and more.
  • Postpartum Care: your doula’s primary goal is to support you after childbirth, focusing on your physical recovery, emotional well-being, and adjustment to life with a newborn. The postpartum period, often called the “fourth trimester,” typically lasts for six weeks but can extend longer depending on individual needs. Key aspects of postpartum care include: physical recovery, mental health support, breastfeeding and feeding guidance, parenting education as well as practical help.
  • Newborn/Infant care: your doula will provide specialized care and support to your baby as soon as you’re ready for her help and care. This includes addressing your baby’s physical, emotional, and developmental needs while helping parents adjust to their new role. Key aspects of newborn and infant care include feeding support, sleep guidance, diapering and hygiene, and soothing techniques.
  • Other areas of support may include:
    • Discussion of birth experience
    • Ensure mom is sleeping well, hydrating and resting by caring for baby
    • Recognize signs of postpartum mental health disorders and discuss options for care
    • Provide evidence-based breastfeeding tips and support
    • Assist mom with use and maintenance of breast pump, if needed
    • Recognize possible areas of concern in regards to feeding & growth of baby and how to navigate options for care with licensed medical professionals
    • Providing evidence-based information regarding newborn/infant care
    • Helping with comfort and care of baby
    • Advocating for mom and baby
    • Light housekeeping (tidying, some vacuuming, etc.)
    • Light laundry (folding)
    • Light meal prep
